Aliya Ivy calls him Dad, he calls himself an Entrepreneur, a Dreamer, a Risk Taker, a Groundbreaker and a Visionary. He is a proud Black man of Jamaican and Barbadian descent, born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada with dreams to provide sustainable, durable, quality, educational toys for all ages to everyone who is looking for them along with exceptional service and great prices!

 

Andrew Holness, the owner and founder, is in his own mind, a problem solver who saw something wrong and found a solution. When our daughter Aliya Ivy was born in 2018 we started to see things we didn't notice before. Like the prices of some of the plastic toys out there, how fast things would break and how often we were at the toy store. For things that sometimes last a week and some maybe a lifetime the costs were piling up. Children develop, grow and need new things so much in such a short amount of time, playtime toys, educational tools, birthdays, the holidays, surprises, road trips, (*sheesh*) toy purchases almost become an every day thing! And if you're not a parent then you have friends having kids, gifts for the nieces and nephews, a plethora of scenarios. All that adds up to a pretty penny. So we found a way to bring those flashy, shiny, noisy plastic toys to you at the lowest prices. That was how Ivy's Locker began, we weren't always all about sustainable wood toys.

 

Ivy's Locker was an idea that skyrocketed and was made into a reality due to hard work, long nights, dedication and a strong family behind him, Andrew worked tirelessly to build something that people would love and appreciate. This toy store started with the goal in mind to bring toys to the public at lower costs than the big box stores and we did just that at the beginning with our plastic toy inventory. When we discovered the benefits of openended play that the wooden toys brought in our families's life, we had to change up our whole business plan and bring you the only toys we feel deserve to be sold. We do the importing for you and bring some of the best wooden educational toys straight to your door without the hassles of import and duty fees, we got you! We still have a few plastic toys in our inventory, not just going to throw them away, but safe wood toys are the future.
